Sasaram/Aurangabad, Nov 9 (UNI) union Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh on Sunday launched a scathing attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, saying that “Lalu’s samosa has lost its taste” and that the people of Bihar now prefer the “paneer-filled samosa” of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Addressing election rallies in Sasaram and Goh (Aurangabad) in support of NDA candidates, Singh said that the days of the phrase ‘Jab tak rahega samose mein aloo, tab tak rahega Bihar mein Lalu’ is long gone.
"Corruption has made Lalu’s samosa tasteless, and now the people of Bihar like NDA’s samosa, which is filled with potato, paneer, and the flavors of good governance and development" he said.
The Defence Minister said that corruption and misrule during the RJD-Congress era had pushed Bihar backwards. He claimed that while RJD and Congress leaders are “out on bail in corruption cases,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have “spotless political careers,” earning public trust.
“It is because of corrupt leaders that people started calling politics a den of corruption,” Singh remarked, appealing to voters to support clean and development-oriented politics.
Singh said Bihar has left behind the “lantern age” under the NDA’s leadership. It was with great difficulty that Nitish Kumar and the NDA government brought Bihar out of darkness and placed it on the road to progress, he said. He highlighted that when Modi came to power 11 years ago, India’s economy was ranked 11th globally, but today it has become the fourth-largest economy, moving rapidly toward the goal of becoming a developed nation.
The senior BJP leader said that several industrial and defence corridors are being developed in Bihar to generate employment. "Those who promise a government job for every household are misleading the people, he said", adding that real employment will come from industrial growth, MSMEs, and investment, which the NDA is promoting.
He said the NDA government has empowered women by directly transferring funds into their bank accounts to start self-employment ventures. He also announced that the annual assistance to farmers under the PM-Kisan Yojana will be increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 if the NDA returns to power, and the same benefit will be extended to fishermen.
On India’s foreign policy, Singh said, “We don’t provoke anyone, but if someone provokes us, we don’t spare them.” Referring to India’s recent military operation, he said "when 26 innocent Indians were killed by Pakistani terrorists in Pahalgam, our blood boiled, but through Operation Sindoor, we targeted only terrorist camps; not a single innocent person was harmed."
Singh urged voters in Sasaram and Aurangabad districts to elect all NDA candidates, saying that the NDA is inviting industrialists to invest in a developed Bihar, while the RJD threatens them with guns. The NDA wants to create one crore jobs for the youth, while the RJD wants to make them goons.
He said that the NDA’s vision document provides a clear roadmap for Bihar’s development and that no force can stop the state’s progress if the alliance is voted back to power.
